My experience with Amaso and George was amazing and can only thank him and Kim for their patience and kindness! I did a discover scuba session. I have big fear of deep waters and seasickness, and despite all of that, George was able to calm me and guide me threw in the water in order to give me a beautiful and magical session. I might be "cured" from my fears now thanks to you George, and for that I can only highly, warmly recommend Amaso! The best!
George, Kim and all the crew are phenomenal!! Best dive center i ever visited! Fantastic experience on Ikaria, they ll make sure to give their best and make u feel confident underwater. We had the pleasure to meet them and discover the sea under their guidance over the last couple of days. Hope to welcome them in the Alps one day to ride some snowy slopes.
I can't even recommend enough Amaso Center and especially George! Not only he is a super enthusiastic and full of energy guy but he is also a super calm and reassuring instructor. I have had my first ever scuba experience with him and all I know is that the day after I was already registered for the Open Water certificate. I also can't thank him enough for shifting around his schedule to make time for me and for ensuring that I was gonna leave the island with my certificate. Lot's of hours spent - so again thank you! - for overstaying at night at the center, for bearing with me as a student, for repeating stuff, for helping us clean out correctly all this equipment every single time, for playing in his guitar and calming us down whilst we were resting or studying between the dives, for ringing us up to check out how our dive record was going on (and long after we had graduated), for also taking us to see the WWII plane wreck, for cleaning the sea level in any given chance, for volunteering locally whenever there was and is a need at his own expense, for teaching us how to respect marine life and everything that comes with it. The Aegean Sea and especially Ikaria is full of beautiful marine life, colours, crystal clean waters (that you can see up to 12-18m depth and if weather allows), with lots of fish species and even a type of a mediterranean monk seal, monachus monachus that we have happent to see whilst we were swimming to one of the sites. If you ever visit Ikaria, don't forget to spend just 3-4hrs for the ''Explore Scuba'' or to go to the plane wreck if you have got at least the first Scuba certificate. I had my first ever experience with scuba taking the Discover Scuba course that Yiorgos (George) teaches, and I had the BEST, most AMAZING time!! George was very patient in reviewing all of the safety information and answering all of my questions so that I felt safe and confident before we even got in the water. He let me go at my own pace all while expertly guiding me and making adjustments to help me with buoyancy. I had such a great time that I am considering the next level of scuba diving, and I of course would want the best teacher again!
George has a vision to help Ikarian children understand and love the underwater world. If you have children this is the best place to introduce them to scuba diving.
