A must visit restaurant located in an ideal scenery! Went 5 days at Argostoli and ate 3 times at Aristofanis. Fresh and well-cooked seafood, decent dessert, responsive staff and reasonable prices. For the Greeks it tastes like home, while the tourists will taste the original Greek cuisine and its traditional culture. hint: try the grilled calamari!

With some good reviews and recommendations, I was quite underwhelmed by this place. The serving staff were very impersonal and quite unfriendly, serving you without looking you in the eye or seeming to care. The food was ok, but nothing special at all for the dishes we had (a few bones in cod fillet surely shouldn't happen), but could have been made slightly better if the serving staff had recommended that we, say, add some sides to the simple fish dishes. Not that bad an experience, but nowhere near 5 star.

Good place in Argostoli, not spectacular though. Some dishes are overpriced (such as the Aristofanis salad, which is basically lettuce with just a few pieces of octopus). The staff is OK, some of them are nice but others are careless and rude. The owner, however, is really nice, which makes the experience a little better. The swordfish tastes great, as well as the mussels. The menu is strong in seafood and has very little options if you're looking for meat (after all, is a fish taverna, so don't come here looking for a burger). I wouldn't really come back, but it wasn't bad either.

Based on the reviews, we expected to have a nice evening and good food. However, the tuna steak really awful! It was the worst tuna ever! It smelled not fresh at all, it was overcooked and it was like a chewing gum! We expected to have a nice seafood experience. Instead, it left me an awful aftertaste :( Certainly would not recommend this restaurant in Argostoli!
