National Transparency Authority constitutes an innovative structural reform for the reinforcement of transparency and the fight against corruption. Its institutional framework (Law 4622/2019) ensures its independence and its self-efficiency. The Authority assumed the competences of five main audit public institutions (General Inspector of Public Administration, Inspectors-Controllers Body for Public Administration, Inspectors Body for Health and Welfare Services, Inspectors Body for Public Works, Inspectors-Controllers Body for Transport), as well as of the General Secretariat Against Corruption. The Authority is structured on three main operational pillars: a) Inspections and Audits b) Prevention and Integrity Policy c) Relation to the Society National Transparency Authority aspires to motivate all the healthy forces of the public and the private sector towards the creation of a social majority, who will require public accountability and will participate actively in the creation and the implementation of standards and mechanisms which will promote transparency and integrity all over the Greek society.
