Surprising entrance but greeted with absolutely food that never expected to be really good serve by a Greek grandpa. 10 euros for a person which is fair price but 5-6 dishes served by him. Indeed a traditional Greek food well served.

I’m Japanese. No signature of the restaurant and no menus. Just siting down and eating. 4 dishes and local wine. Just only 14. That’s amazing.

Another difficult to find spot here in Athens. There is no menu. The food is prepared by a Greek grandpa. I was served chickpeas and some of the best anchovies I’ve had since arriving in Greece. Being there for lunch it was a bit quieter than usual. Would defo recommend it.

Don't be fooled by the reviews or listen to the tour guides, this place is the pits, same menu every day, plate of chick peas, cremated sardines, cold tomato stew and a jug of warm wine for 27.00, not even a glass of water. Always completely full of tourist's with grim expressions on their faces, possibly due to the bland food. I know it looks like a place \where the locals eat\ but it's really not! You're better off going to a restaurant in the centre of town, better food and cheaper.

10/10 if you want to experience an authentic local meal. The neighbourhood is honestly very shady and it was hard to believe that such a famous local place is really supposed to be there. We entered into what used to be a wine-cellar. All the tables were taken but everyone immediately offered us a chair at their table- it is just how it goes there. We did not order, there are no menus. The wine, the food- they just kept coming. And they were truly amazing, cooked by a Greek grandpa.

This is a very unusual experience. On the plus side, you get a taste of how tiny taverns were and operated in old Athens. No menu, no frills, very casual, no tracking, no receipts. No sign outside. A rustic basement filled with wine barrels. Chairs can get yanked out of your table without even asking, but also added immediately from somewhere else in the room, if needed. Strangers will sit with you like it's normal. Definitely a break from modernity and the standardization of restaurants, which I personally value, but can see how it'd be a culture shock for many people. The food is simple, traditional, and delicious. I would give it five stars if it weren't for the high prices and my suspicion that the owner discriminates when he charges.

You'll find the place by the stairs going from the street down. When you'll sit by the table you'll receive mulled white wine followed by sardines, a salad, boiled chickpea plate and white beans plate. You can also ask for meat that will be served with rice. The food is very good and simple, but the genuine taverna special atmosphere is worth the visit. No menu, no special dishes, just like old times.

Great food! There is no menu they will just serve you the dishes of the day. Everything was just delicious and cheap. Highly recommended
