Shockingly, I was diagnosed with a full thickness stage 4 macular hole, and having no knowledge on the subject I wanted to explore all my options, gather as much information as possible and find the best surgeon. Initially, I found that there were few doctors successfully specialising in this delicate procedure and after having reviewed Dr Gotzaridis's speeches and reviews I contacted him. After reading up on the subject and making numerous phone calls to the doctor which he always personally answered I decided that he would do the surgery. Initially I wanted a general anaesthetic as I was frightened I would feel something during the surgery and not keep still. The doctor advised me that a local anaesthetic would be ok. And sure enough it was !! I didn't feel anything during the surgery and surprisingly there was no pain even after. I would also like to note how professional and wonderful were the nurses and aneathetist at the hospital at making me feel comfortable and relaxed. The facedown time is not easy but it is manageable. There were a few times when I panicked that things were not quite right and the doctor would immediately arrange to see me and put my mind at rest. I am now 4 months post surgery. The hole in my eye has successfully closed!! Prior to my surgery my vision was blurry with a round black shape in the middle. That has now gone!! I can still see some wavy lines,however the healing process is slow and could take up to a year. I am now able to drive and carry out all my daily chores and activities. Dr Gotzaridis carried out one of the most difficult surgeries that an ophthalmologist is required to do. He saved my eyesight and I would highly recommend speaking to him if you are faced with such a problem. Thank you Doctor.

Αριστος χειρουργός και ανθρωπος. Επειδη τα σχολια που βλέπω με καλύπτουν και επαυξανω, θα σταθώ στις προφυλάξεις για τον covid-19. Το προσωπικο ενημερώνει για το αντισηπτικό και τις μασκες, όλα τα ραντεβού θερμομετρούνται και στα μηχανήματα υπάρχουν προστατευτικές μεμβρανες. Ενοιωσα ασφαλής. ΜΠΡΑΒΟ
