Amazing piece of history. A must see place and monument in the capital of Greece! Just a few minutes walk from Syntagma square. At night it’s much better!

Knowing the history, it is breathtaking to see in person! It was part of the free \Rick Steves Athens City Walk\ audio which I was listening to. He talked us through the rich history which made seeing it all the more meaningful. The audio tour is available for free download online so I highly recommend when visiting Athens!

Lot's of history, some interesting details but all in all not much to do here. You do get a good view of the nearby temple site

Did not go in but did take photos from outside the iron fence. Stunning! Think: no rotary tools, no diamond studded cutting blades, no hydraulic or pneumatic tools. It not only got done it has survived two centuries. This is a GoyoGTO must see. Please consider giving me a ‘like’ for the review.

To visit this site on your way to the Temple of Olympian Zeus is really advisable. The Arch was built by the Athenians in honour of their Emperor HADRIAN in the North West of the Temple and the quality of the construction was really unique since we still can admire it today in that perfect shape after such a long time .

Well what can I say. This is the Hadrian's Arch, The Arch of Hadrian, most commonly known in Greek as Hadrian's Gate, is a monumental gateway resembling – in some respects – a Roman triumphal arch. It spanned an ancient road from the center of Athens, Greece, to the complex of structures on the eastern side of the city that included the Temple of Olympian Zeus.I believe these old artifacts are deserve more attention and care.
