Trendy wine bar. I had one issue having no chance to eat food from neighbor restaurant. But solved.
Tiny friendly wine bar in the centre of Athens in a pedestrianised street near the cathedral. Good wine selection, including quite a few by the glass, and a small menu - bigger in the evening - of tasty dishes including a good beetroot 'hummous' and an excellent ham from the North of Greece, both in good-sized portions.
Rude service, truly a pity for one of the pioneer wine bars in ATH. Seemingly it has devolved to a common tourist trap, absolute lack of organisation, confusion with seating priority, certainly not my cup of tea. If rudeness does not bother you, feel free to visit, otherwise avoid.
First let me say that this place has a great atmosphere. It has young and older people enjoying wine. They have three seating areas: upstairs with a view of the back of the square, the bar/windows, and the street. We sat upstairs and it wasn't cramped at all. The wine list is mainly oriented for drinking by the bottle, but it does have a great variety and selection. We chose to go with a small batch varietal that was served by the glass. They gave us crutons and we ordered olives. The olives were so so, but the wine was wonderful. I'd say come here to start out a night, and let the wine give you a good appetite for dinner.
This is the place to come for completing your Greek wine education. The list of wines by the glass changes monthly and includes sparkling white red and a dessert wine. The list of wine by the bottle is huge and all Greek. Nice and cosy. Snacks (tapas) available as well.
Variety in wine collection, can chose between many different options, either bottle or single glass. There is also tasty food to chose for the side.
