Just a couple of hundred meters past The Clumsies, one of the best bars in Athens, we can find Karamanlidika. And boy let me tell you: the menu will invite you to order until you're physically uncapable of having any more (which I did). The gregarious servers will welcome you with some prosciutto and water while you scan through the menu for your first order. And order you will. Be sure to taste the wild unfiltered red wine and the Buffalo cheese dessert (which wasn't on the menu). It's a strong recommendation from me.

Don't look any further, this is the restaurant you need to visit. Real, delicious Greek food, served with care in a picturesque building, also with a terrace on the back. If you speak Spanish, ask for Maria (Spanish born and living for a long time in Greece), she will make your experience even more enjoyable.

My friend and I visited this place yesterday after searching for restaurants on trip advisor. We were looking for a more local and authentic place, hence why this place caught our attention. From the moment we stepped in, we felt very welcome. The staff was very friendly, professional and we loved the ambience. We tried multiple dishes and got a bottle of wine recommended by one of the waiters, this wine fit perfectly with our food. Apart from this, the prices are quite low for the quality they offer you. This has been the best place we have visited in our vacation so far and we will definitely go back here if we ever visit Athens again!

Great host, perfect service and the food...ooh the food. Best food we hat in Athens so far. We're coming back to try the rest of these amazing dishes. They also have a nice and narrow terrace in the back. Perfect. Loved it!

Explendid experience!! We'll come back for sure. Maria, the manager, was lovely and suggested some exquisit traditional Greek dishes which we loved. The dishes are abundant and delicious, great restaurant. And as a plus... The dessert was handmade and on the house! What else can you ask for?

If you want some local Greek food, here is definitely the place to be. Really like the beef, omelet and the homemade yogurt. Love the semi sweet wine. The desert that takes 30mins is definitely worthy to try

The food was delicious, abundant and cheap. One of the workers, María, was Spanish and did a really good job kindly helping us. 10/10 recommended.

We visited twice during our stay in Athens. Simple but very tasty food, I imagine fairly close to home style cooking. Service was second to none. They also have a newer slightly more "up market" restaurant on the main Street near Monastiraki station which also looked great. Definitely one to try. Although the place looks like a meat haven the vegetarian dishes were also very good.
