We just found it by accident as we were seating at the cafe outside. Was pleasantly surprised and felt sorry for all the people detained there. Free entrance too. Athens is not only the Acropolis at the end...

Everyone should visit this place! A historic basement that used as detention centre during the German occupation. You have to visit and \listen\ to the walls narrate the stories of the imprisoned people. Congratulations to Ethniki Insurance for the preservation and the continuous operation. Highly recommended place. Entrance is free of charge.
The historic Kommandatur building in the centre of Athens constitutes to this day a reminder of German atrocities during the Occupation period of Athens...Scary but revealing. The prisoners' graffitti still haunt the place.
