One of the busiest and famous places to enjoy the authentic souvlaki. The prices are good and the souvlaki is good, especially giaourtlou (kebab with tomato sauce and yogurt). However the service is not always the best. We have visited the place a while back. We recommend it for take away.
Great kebab and souvilaki. Especially kebap with yogurth was excelent. Don't be afraid of tourist centre location nor size of place (actually this is 3 buildings of O Thanasis now). This place is eal\, affordable... Just great. And great again (been there twice ;))
We went for lunch to try their kebabs. We really enjoyed the different kebabs. I had the kebab in yogurt with pita pictured below. My friend had their beef souvlaki. They were both very yummy and flavorful. However, the service could have been much better. When they first took our order, the waiter did not get the correct dish for my friend so we had to wait a while for her dish. We also had a hard time getting the waiters’ attention to ask for things like refreshments. My friend asked for a coke at one point and was ignored. We felt that we weren’t being as well attended and treated as the other guests. I would recommend this place but be aware of the waiters and their service.
Double serving of kebab meat, homemade flatbread and tzatziki, spiced fries and fillings. There really isn’t much to complain about this sandwich. Such a satisfying wrap. Meat had great fat content and char from the grill. Loved the option to double down. Elevated it from a snack-sized wrap to a light meal. Chicken plate was also good. Not least because of the light, vinegary salad it was served with. Recommended!
Like others have said, don't be put off by the tourist trap location. This is an Athens institution, and does an excellent kebab at a fair price. Although they can be very busy, service the quick and efficient. It's not the place for a long lunch, but the location, just off Monastiraki Square, is ideal for watching the world go by while you eat.

Amazing food. So good we ordered more. Reasonably priced. Beautiful spot, I recommend sitting outside and getting a real feel for the place.
