The most intricate and best preserved part of Acropolis. You can see replicas of famous statues in the temple. Most tourists crowd around the Parthenon temple. Crowds are less denser here There is good views of Athens fron this spot.

Quick stop while at the acropolis. Do yourself a favor and read up on the place before you visit so that you can enjoy it more. There are plenty of tours to the facility but you can also listen in to ongoing tours to glean more information. It amazing that so much of it is still here and not in a British museum. Make sure to take plenty of photos. The afternoon light is a hard light and makes for some stunning pictures.

Another amazing structure atop the acropolis. This temple was said to be the location of the original olive tree planted by Athena, thus being the namesake of the city.

It’s not really the old temple of Athena, but held the cults of several gods. Very interesting building and definitely exceptionally well re-excavated and studied by Tanoulis.

Very bloody cool. Visited during covid times so was wonderfully quiet and we got plenty of time to mooch and take the place in. The scale and importance of the place is overwhelming, you almost can't believe what you're seeing. Incredible views over Athens. Very hot at the top during August so make sure to take plenty of water and sunscreen. Not allowed to pose with the temples which is interesting but feels respectful. Bit of a trek up the hill but well worth it. Watch out for scammers trying to coax money out of you for a bracelet on the way up the hill. Whole site is wonderful and well worth the money. Absolute must see in Athens!!
