As I know this is the most famous and the oldest bakery of Athens. You can try traditional Greek bakery products there. The seller speaks English quite well. I think the place is a bit expensive due to its fame, but it is worth to spend your money there.
I had high expectations for this place due to all good reviews I read. Went there at 4pm and there was almost nothing left so I had the spinach and feta cheese pie which was clearly missing the feta cheese and it's characteristic flavour, tasteless and needed more seasoning. Good portion for 2.2 Covid-19 measures: staff wear masks and gloves
We had something to eat from here at breakfast and our first impression was that our grandma cooked because everything was SOOOOO TASTY. Prices are good, we paid 8,80 for 4 different things and we didn’t need to eat for at least 6 hours. Absolutely recommended!!!
I had their famous handmade cheese pie 'kourou' it was yummy. The chicken pie was good. As one of the local guide commented, the water is available at lower rates here compared to elsewhere.

Really delicious pies at good price. 2.20. We went back twice. Good as lunch or snack. The boss & staff are friendly & warm. Highly recommended.
Wife and I ventured to find this place at 7:30am in the morning and since we stayed next to Syntagma square it was only a short walk (3-5min) to Ariston. After hearing so much about this place, I had high expectations but also very anxious since most often than not the property does not live up to its reputation. But WOW this is a great bakery for greek pies! Wonderful smell wafted through the room and down the street. Such light and fluffy pies with a variety of fillings. Delicious! Wife and I bought quite a few pies to share among us. Went to the fast food joint on the corner to eat since the bakery has no seating areas (take out only). For sure we gained a few pounds eating this for quite a few days for breakfast but who cares! Life is Short!
