Beautiful historic synagogue that has been restored to former look. It has a rich heritage that has been preserved by the local community. Very welcoming of visitors as well.

This tiny worship house will have a special place in my heart it tells a the story of the ancient Jewish community of Crete and their tragic end but also a hopeful new beginning to transcend time and horrors for a brighter future.

When in Chania just step in to feel the magic of this place and take a time to contemplate icons and interior itself. A quite place in a busy center of Chania city.

A place we'll worth a visit for those interested in Jewish history. Very friendly staff. I have missed a wider choice of high quality synagogue-related souvenirs, which could remind me of the visit and attract some more money to maintain the place.

Lovely old synagogue tucked away in the side streets of the old town. What it lacks in visual appeal (currently under renovation), it makes up for in lovely, caring staff. They went out of their way to make me feel at home and brought the history to life.

A very moving tribute to the almost two thousand year presence of Judaism on Crete. A sobering and peaceful respite from the often hectic and kitschy tourist scene.
