If you're staying in Chania and looking for a change from Greek cuisine then head for Kariatis. A great interesting mixture of Italian and Japanese. Sushi was nice & fresh and pasta was cooked al dente, just as we like it. Sour cherry tiramisu was chef's take on the Italian classic. I really enjoyed it but our waiter warned us that not all of the guests like it.

Good little place in the middle of the old port in Chania. The food is excellent, the chef a master. Freshness is definitely a priority in this establishment. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The place is sort of high end so dress accordingly. Unfortunately our shellfish wasn't washed properly so that we had sometimes sand within the food. Other than that a really great restaurant.

A lovely restaurant that offers an extremely good selection of food. The location is close to the old harbour and is very is easy to find. The staff are extremely attentive and the service is excellent. There an extensive choice on the menu ranging from sushi, pasta dishes, pizza, meat dishes and great steaks. There is a good choice of deserts as well. The wine prices are very fair and we opted for the local wine which is actually very good. I would certainly return to the restaurant if I was back in Chania - we had a 14 day break and ate in Kariatis four times!

Beautiful restaurant just off the harbour in Chania, great atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, very relaxing and of course the food was amazing. An amazing restaurant but be sure to book before you go.

First visit and was very impressed. Great food and service. Serving sizes are large and prices are reasonable. Convienient location near the port side of the Old Harbor. Looking forward to our next visit to try the pizza!

Legitimately one of the best meals of my life and I have eaten all over the world! Excellent service - the waitress practically ran across the room to pour my water for me . Food was obviously fresh and prepared exquisitely. Go for the gnocchi to start and the fillet for the main (lovely suprise with the black truffle underneath!). Will be back soon (possibly tomorrow ). Mary Berry herself would be proud of the bread and the desert (even though I was so full, couldn't help myself). Fantastic meal. Made my day and my trip to Crete!
