Good local comfort good, nothing fancy but honest and tasty Greek dishes. Huge portions, good service. If you are in Xania for 3-4 days you should try it. Stuffed aubergine, rice leaves and beef stew are very much recommended. I'd say 2 dishes is enough for two people (only downside: no complementary raki or/and dessert at the end... but you won't need it, honestly).

You are looking for a good home made meal in Chania? Then this is the place fo you. You have a selection of 8 dishes all fresh made and the menu is changing. Big portions and really delicious. If you don't wish to eat there, then you can easily request a take away and enjoy it at your home or at your office

Little working class shop inside the market with mouth watering, home cooked, traditional Chetan food. Would love to try everything but portions are too big. Lamb tripes for breakfast might be only for the more adventurous traveller, but the do more regular fare as well. Great value

Go eat there !! We've found this place in the eastern part of the market. Amazing food! Either for morning or lunch time... Freshly and homemade food! The waiter speaks english. It's out of the touristic path, it's worth going !!

Excellent greek home made food to eat in the central market of Chania or takeaway. Fair prices and also good options for vegans

Do not leave Crete without visiting the market and having a lunch with cold local beer.
