Chios town center. Nice place with a large beautiful garden

It's a nice square.... Nothing special
Well, Central Square, combined with it's adjacent Municipal Garden, is a must if you are around. After all, it's right next to Aplotaria Market and five minutes from the Port. Here you can enjoy calm moments into the buzzy City Center, meet interesting personas, feed the pigeons, tour inside the garden with the unique statues and colorful peackoks. An easy 5*
The central square of chios close both to the municipality garden as well as the old castle. A lot of places to eat around it mostly traditional (souvlakia).This should be the start point on your maps in order to explore the whole city. Great place to take some good looking photographs. (Hidden attraction): Bring some bread with you the hundreds of pigeons there are used to being fed and will all come to you for a snack!
Fav place to walk around in and play with the birds.

“Η ΚΕΝΤΡΙKH ΠΛΑΤΕΊΑ ΤΗΣ ΧIΟΥ γνώρισε όχι μόνον τις ανέμελες καθημερινές δραστηριότητες και τις χαρούμενες γιορτινές ημέρες, αλλά υπήρξε ὁ βωμὸς τῶν θρήνων κατά τη διάρκεια της οθωμανικής σκλαβιάς (1566-1912), όταν πλήθος ανθρώπων έχασαν τη ζωή τους σε αθρόες σφαγές στο ολοκαύτωμα του 1822, και σε μεμονωμένες εκτελέσεις. Άγριοι θάνατοι διά ξίφους και μαχαίρας, φρικτότεροι διά του απαγχονισμού και της πυράς και ακόμα πιο μαρτυρικοί διά ανασκολοπισμού έλαβαν χώρα σ’ αυτόν τον τόπο του Βουνακίου. «νὰ ἀνακαλῶνται εἰς τὴν μνήμην τῶν μεταγενεστέρων διὰ νὰ προληφθῇ ἄλλην φορὰν τοιαύτη καταστροφή»”.
