Visited October 1 2020. With loaded bicycle it was tough going up steep hill. Thankfully the hill is not that long. When you get to the opening, there is place to lock the bicycle. Now you have a choice, take a path to the castle or take the steps. Both take about 10 minutes to walk. You can see the beautiful walls of the castle on your walk. The outside walls are in great shape. Inside they started with directions which was nice, but then the signs stopped. They have some display signs, or a post stating what the remains are. There are a couple under high roofs so you still get a good view. The view from the castle is wonderful. You can see the sea and the town. The price is very reasonable. If you are in the area it is worth the climb.

Nice place to visit when you are in the area, but no must have in my opinion. I would have loved some more information about the ruin. Unfortunately they only had one information board at the starting point of the circuit. But you are able to see a nice view over the village to the sea.
A Byzantine monument in Pieria Greece to visit. Platamon castle is a very old place built in the Byzantine age and if you like historical places or you are just castle lover you should go there. The view from above is excellent , you can see the beaches of Platamon and Panteleimon and of course the Olympos Mountain ️. The ticket costs 3 per person. You will need water when going to the castle.
Good for a short visit, about 1 hour. The entrance fee is 2 euro. Nice view to the sea from the walls of the castle.There is also a small church inside. Open for visiting from 8 am to 20.00
Platamon Castle is a Site to Behold !!! With outstanding views of the gorgeous scenery that surrounds the area, it's totally a treat to explore and an intimate step back into history to cherish. Perched high and keeping silent watch over the local area, gazing upon it's commanding presence instills a regal sense of awe and wonder from miles around. At nighttime, it's bathed in glorious illumination that beautifully accentuates its ancient majesty :)
It is a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours on a hot afternoon. The view is spectacular
3 euro entrance. May-October opening times are from 8am to 8pm. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and the rest of the year they close at 3pm. For some reason the tower was not open to the public. Great view. There is shadow in the castle since there are a lot of trees.
There is no guide. It is truth that wiev is great, but if you want to take picture from the wall there is a warning not to do, becouse climbing is dangerous. Insted of that, museum can make some protection for the stairs or close it down with some bariers. Paths to the castle are in bad condition.
