I phoned the number and was told that the observatory was open. I made the journey by metro, bus and then walked up the hill in the heat. When i got there, the gate was locked. A man came out and i asked if this is the entrance to the observatory. He said yes. I said great can i come in. No he said. I explained i had called, i was told it was open. \No you must phone and make an appointment.\ I told him its taken me 2 hours to get there. He just shrugged, and said ring tonight to make an appointment. Thanks for nothing. Not at all helpful.

A fantastic building that nowadays is used for guided tours. The entrance fee is inexpensive and the personnel very helpful. It is located in a hill of Penteli.
