During the metro station excavations a small part of the most ancient road of Greece has been discovered. Iera Odos (sacred way) connected Athens with Eleusis and it was almost 8 km long. The archaeological site is open to the public all day long. Except the road a few tombs and artifacts have been found. Worth a visit if you are in the area and you have free time.

Guess this is a piece from the Ancient Road of Iera Odos which used to connect Athens with Elefsina. Found on Estavromenos square, and Egaleo station.

Να πούμε βέβαια ότι ενώ η οδός είναι αρχαία, τα αποτσίγαρα που βλέπει ο επισκέπτης στον χώρο είναι σίγουρα νεότερα.
