Erisos, Greece

Excellent place for nature lovers to walk around and feel the history. There are hardly any buildings left. The best time to visit is in the spring with a "carpet of flowers" transforming the place to a colorful painting. Take water and a snack with you because there is no convience store up there. Plain sports shoes are recommended but not essential.

Behold the road to the castle. We embarked on the journey around noon in direct sunlight, which was a pitiful decision on afterthought. Make sure to bring a hat and enough sunscreen. There are two ways to the castle, and you should take, when you can decide between the forest way and the regular road, for the forest way along the cliff. It provides most beautiful views of the shore and a 'secret' entrance to the castle ruins.
Very pleasant 2 km walk from Assos on the very nice path. From the former castle has remained very little, so there's no much to see. The view from the top of the hill is amazing.
Great views from above and one has a choice of routes going up: either paved and easy or rough and wild. I picked the latter one and loved it.
Breathtaking views from the top and throughout the ascent. Easily one of the best places I've ever visited.
On the road to the ruins the view of the Asos town is extremely beautiful. Worth walking the distance of 1200 m ( cover the distance in the first part of the day until 10.30a.m)
Beautiful location and great walking path. Some ruins to look at but not much and nothing else there.
Very nice view, after an easy and relaxing walk. The ruins are a bit less interesting
