Foloi (Greek: Φολόη, Latin: Pholoe) is a village and a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Archaia Olympia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 174.202 km2. The seat of the municipality was in the village Lalas, in the southern part of the municipal unit. The village Foloi is situated in the northwestern part. Foloi is situated in a mountainous, sparsely populated area. The Foloi oak forest is located in the municipal unit. Foloi is located about 15 km northeast of Olympia, 30 km east of Pyrgos and 55 km south of Patras. It borders on Arcadia to the east, across the river Erymanthus. The municipal unit Foloi is subdivided into the following communities (constituent villages in brackets): Achladini (Achladini, Koutsouroumpas) Doukas (Doukas, Lasdikas) Foloi Koumanis (Koumanis, Ai Giannaki, Kastania) Lalas (Lalas, Pothos) Milies Nemouta (Nemouta, Kampos, Tsaparaiika, Villia) Neraida (Neraida, Kampos) Persaina (Nea Persaina)
Extremely beautiful and unique forest but BEWARE! DON'T attempt to walk it / bike it during July / August as it is FULL of moths (every year)! It is actually impossible to do any sort of walking as you will understand if you try. I'm pretty sure it is a great walking / biking experience during winter, spring, or autumn.

One of the most beautiful forest of the Peloponnese region. The dirt road which is existing at the forest is accessible by a normal car and not only with 4x4. Beautiful hiking paths, great nature with huge number of oak trees, peaceful and quiet place.

Ομορφο δασος, εχει χωρο να αφησεις το αμαξι και να κανεις πικνικ η να χαλαρωσεις. Καταλληλος χωρος και για παιδια με παιδικη χαρα και αλανα, καθως και μονοπατια για πεζοπορια για τους λατρεις της φυσης !
Αξίζει να επισκεφθεί το δρυοδάσος Φολόης, όποιος βρεθεί στην Ηλεία , μοναδική ομορφιά Ίσως το αρχαιότερο δάσος της χώρας μας!!!
