A fantastic walk in the small river, icecold water but with hot temperature in the air you get quickly used with it. Walk 45 to 60 min. upstream in the deep fantastic canyon and turn the same way back. Use bathing shues as it get slippery, rocks thou round and smooth. Depth as deepest of water was approx. 1.50-1.60. I used my normal phone as camera with a stick. Worked safe and fine with good shues. Back to starting point there is a restaurant.

This place along with Vikos Gorge are an absolute must see Europe never mind Greece. Amazing experience so stunningly beautiful and all for free wow! Takes about 90mins walking through the river to reach the 2 bridges and old ruin, one of the most scenic walks ever and swimming in the water just incredible, definitely come here! (Wet shoes absolute must!)

Fantastic landscape, majestic atmosphere and breathtaking views. Bring water shoes and a towel and walk the icy cold waters were Charon drove of the dead towards the underworld. Don’t be afraid to dive for a few seconds.

Beautiful! Best activity walking into this picturesque natural landmark! In the beginning water seems to he so cold, but keep on you will get used to it in 5 minutes. Furthermore, you have to swim or walk with water very high on you in some points, so wear swimming suits, wear proper beach shoes and do not have any bags, only the necessary. You can have a water resist bag instead and water resist mobile packs.

Its such a wonderful place to be when the weather is hot and you are up for an adventure. The water is so beautiful but very cold somake sure you get there with warm clothing as well if you want to walk up for some time. Best shoes are some trainers or neoprene shoes. A sea bag will protect your stuff during swimming periods. There is at least one and depending on how much water Acheron is carrying sometimes up to three until you're at the bridge where the river is splitting up to cold and warm river. Be sure to carry a towel with you to dry yourself after swimming sessions cuz it can get pretty cold since the sun doesn't reach some parts in the canyon.

Amazing energy, very cold water but with some strong will power you’ll get used to it within a few minutes. I suggest walking all the way up to the springs via the path and walking in the river down to the restaurant. Get ready to get wet, don’t bring things u don’t want to get wet.

From the carpark there’s a very well marked trail you can see following the red markings. The hike goes down to the river and up the other side, it’s relatively steep at parts. We went for about 4km and then came back so unsure about the end point but would definitely recommend.

A must visit if you are in the outer area! Lovely place even though a bit cold! The water is freaking freezing but after a while you get used to it so don't get discouraged and keep on going. We found out that at first it is a good practice to step on stones to take a break from the cold and then continue.
