The view from the Castle is really amazing. I highly recommend you check it out. It was quite hard to find but once you get there it's totally worth it. Students have free access.

Beautiful castle on the smaller side with great views of Kalamata. Perfect for a 20 minutes or so getaway.

3 Euros to see nothing. The only thing you will see are some castle ruins and an open auditorium nothing else. There was no guide or something because the castle was fairly small. If you love castles you may love it, but just that. To be fair the view from the castle was fairly good.

You'll get the best view of Kalamata from this place. It lacks information boards and the entrance is pretty hard to find, but for the price you can't really complain.

Very historic Castle! It has been a major feature in battles with the Byzantines, ottomans, venicians, slaves, and later Frank's. Do not miss the sign in front with short historical description. Also, note the renovations. By the Venetians and Greeks after theTurks blew up the cannon powder storage magazines. The older stonework is still visible

Good for a nice walk and get a great view of the city. Not to forget to read historic info written on plaquettes.

The views of the town from the castle are beautiful. Not much to see/ do within the castle. Check in and out times during Winter - they different from the website

If you go to Kalamata you should definitely make a point of seeing the castle or what is left of it after centuries of battles it's a ruin but embedded in history so don't expect to much. And after the earthquake in 1986. Fantastic veiws and very cheap entrance fees.
