Ladon dam is located at the center of Peloponnes, 40 km northwest to Tripoli on Ladon stream. The dam has a height of 56 m, and a length of 102 m. It was errected at 1955 as a hydroelectric power plant, and it has a power generation capacity of 70 MW. The dam is one of the most significant attractions of the area, and its completion led to the creation of Ladona artificial lake in a ravine of Mount Afrodisio. The lake, that has spectacular scenery, was declared an eco-park and it is ideal for many activities, like boating, swimming and fishing, as well as hiking around its shores. An interesting attraction you can find in the area, is the “Tis Kyras" ancient bridge (the Lady’s Bridge, located 7 km east), which was constructed in the 13th century AD and is visible only during the summer months, when the level of the waters goes down.
