The ancient theater of Orchomenos (Arcadia) is located at the north-east side of the ancient city Orchomenos that was one of the oldest, largest and most significant cities in the area in antiquity with a gold era between 7th–6th century BC. The theater was one of the largest theatres of the ancient times, with a capacity for 4,000 people, and it was built during the Hellenistic period, in the 3rd century BC. It was built on a steep slope, in an altitude of 800 metres, and has a unique view of the area. It was used both for plays and for games in honour of the god Dionysus. The best way to arrive there, is o take road 111 from Tripoly, and to drive around 30 km north to Levidi, from there, north to the small vilage of Orchomenos and from there, along a narrow road that climbs to the hill of the ancient Orchomenos, till you arive the parking area, and from there, a short walk of 200 m north-west to the site.
