WARNING do not go near the salt lake by car, not even with 4x4, see picture. Extremely muddy below surface. Otherwise very cool natural place look at and to walk around.

We were there in late September and the lake was devoid of water. It is bleak, spectacular and totally deserted with some unpleasant fly tipping round the edges. We went in a jeep and would not recommend this in a regular car. Take plenty of water. It's definitely worth it. Oh, and drive carefully, we spotted a couple of tortoises crossing the road.
A vast area of a salt lake that is so we'll preserved and totally worth paying a visit! Be cautious on hot days, as it gets really hot!
Great place for an emergency landing when your A-164 takes a direct hit from a Tigris, 10/10 would get shot at again.
