First of all: I have a problem to give a “star-rating” to a refugee camp! When google maps asked me to a few months ago, I was shocked and repelled! But anyhow , I give my rating in terms of what I have heard of other camps and on the basis of what I have seen in on by now three different visits of up to two weeks volunteering at the Malakasa camp: Seems to be one of the better camps in Greece. Well managed by IOM - overseen by the ministry for migration. Very diligent IOM staff; but over capacity. Containers not available for everyone (1/8/18). Thus some dwelling in Tents. 8.9.2018 : Situation in Malakasa has worsened. Many more living in tents. Unrests have led to a partial shut down of operation in the camp for several days. The camp is at - and over its limits. Don’t go there if you have not been officially assigned to the camp. No services can be offered to you if not not there officially! The (IOM) crew is doing a great job - but under the circumstances at their limit as well. ONLY GO, IF YOU ARE OFFICIALLY ASSIGNED TO THE CAMP!!!

When it comes to disappointment there is no better example than Malakasa camp ,here refugees from all walks of life looking forward to catching a train to the city center hoping they can provide food and other necessities vital to their survival.although it is a mountainous area with great landscapes sorrow is vividly observed in people's lives. #help_refs #refugeecrisis

کمپ (مالاکاسا) فضائی آرام و جایی سرسبز است ، زندگی در این محل خوش میگذرد. کوه های بلند با جنگلات سرسبز،اطراف کمپ به زیبایی این محل افزوده است یکی از برترین امتیازات این کمپ برای محاجرین رفت و برگشت رایگان به شهر توسط ریل (ترین)میباشد میدان احاطه شده ای ورزشی دارد متاسفانه میدان بازی فوتبال ندارد تقریبا ۹۰درصد ساکنین کمپ (مالا کاسا)خراسانی ها(مردم افغانستان) میباشند.
