This place is surreal, the nuns are no longer here, three of the five have passed away, one of them was my wife's cousin. This place is a beautiful sanctuary of the life of the Nuns, the amount of work put into this is amazing. Words cannot describe the veiw or the experience of seeing this place. Yes, there is some trash here, but if we all take at least one of the pieces of trash back with us, it will help in the long run. God Bless

The monastery was a pretty cool experience. Sorry though it wasn't well-maintained. There were plastic bottles and other stuff all over the place. I've also read about that it's hard to have a look inside of the place. The doors are closed. Still there is something special about the 1000 years old nunnestry...
Top destination for tourists from other countries and Greeks. Beautiful view and worth to visit..
Made the climb on a Tuesday morning in August (2016), arrived 10.30am, place was locked shut, nobody around, no indication of when it might be possible to see inside. Left disappointed..
Lite trist att det är övergivet sedan 2009 då de sista 2 nunnorna lämnade klostret. Går att köra bil en bit men den sista är enbart för 4wd. Om du tänker vandra högre upp till kapellet på 1100m eller att nå toppen på Mt Kerkis 1440m så bör man börja vandringen kl7. 3L vatten och mat. Det är brant och tufft. Men utsikten är sagolik.
Prachtige plek op me heen te hiken. Met de crossmotor of quad kun je ver komen vervolgens zul je nog 25 minuten moeten hiken om op deze prachtige plek te komen. Enige nadeel aan deze plek is dat het klooster gesloten is, binnen kun je niks zien. De route er naar toe met het prachtige uitzicht is wel de moeite waard. De ligging van het klooster heeft ook iets magisch. Vanaf het klooster kun je verder hiken naar de top van de berg, waar vervolgens een kapel is waar je als ervaren hiker zou kunnen slapen en eventueel gebruik kan maken van een keukentje. Al met al 1 van de mooiste plekken om te hiken. De 5 sterren krijgt deze plek vanwege het prachtige uitzicht:
