Worth to visit. Sacred monastery, where the body of Saint Gerasimos is kept. From the church stairs are leading down to the cave where the Saint was praying. There is a very narrow hole to get from one chamber to the second (you must crawl to get there). Pics attached.

Lovely point of interest, very intricate and bold designs architecture-wise. Be weary if you’re wanting to climb down the ladder and see the crypt and women should bring a cardigan or shawl. It’s around the corner from a lovely winery too.

Would have been better if it was open. Thankfully the Robolo consortium next door was. So it wasn't a completely wasted trip. We didn't fancy paying to drag our three young kids into the smaller Chapel. They would have just moaned. Shame.

I think it's a must see for those who are interested in such things. Body of Saint Gerasimos is not exhibited throughout the day, but if you spend some time there you'll have the chance to see it. You can also climb down the ladder and see the place where Saint Gerasimos was praying. I strongly discourage claustrophobic people to do so!!

Amazing monastery. We have visited the catacombs also. It's amazing and incredible if you imagine what miracles have be done in this place long time ago. Just make sure that you will not go between 1-3:30 because is closed.

If you are religious, you can visit st. GERASIMOS cave and see how he was praying. The caves are under the current church and can be visited. Also his remains are displayed at this place.

The monastery only opens at set times. The best time to visit is 4pm. It is free to enter but you must be suitably dressed, shoulders covered and legs covered to the knees and no hats. Once inside it is very beautiful but small. It will only need about 30 minutes to an hour no longer. There is a staircase that takes you under the monastery. You can wonder around outside the monastery and the grounds.

Despite the fact the Italians invaded Greece, the Islanders have the memorial to the men who were basically massacred. It is well maintained, informative and poignant.
