This monastery is very old and the church itself brought on memories of my mt Athos visit a few years ago. For women which are not allowed on mt Athos, this is a good aproximation of the feel that the monasteries of mt Athos have. Off course minus the extraordinary views to the sea offered by those monasteries.

Very beautiful place to visit and look at the history. Long drive up the mountain and so make sure you get local directions as needed can be a little tricky to navigate but if you follow the signs you should be easily able to navigate through the villages along the road to the monastery right near the top. Everyone can walk around where the pictures have been taken throughout the courtyards. Of course you can't go inside the church without permission only the outer area to light candles. There is also a large shop in two rooms inside off the courtyard to buy religious items and icons. There is a cafe but (not on Google maps) and lots of parking just before you get to the monastery. There is a wc/ toilets inside the monastery just ask as there's only one small sign. Please feel free to click on like. Thanks
