This is also the site of DORIS DNO station (beacon) at Dionysos, Greece. DORIS ground segment beacons transmit to the satellites on 2036.25 MHz and 401.25 MHz. Signals are picked up and processed by small receivers on satellites using this system, like TOPEX/Poseidon and JASON.
