Welcome to Patras
Greece government should let immigrants to buy tickets on double or triple price and let them go to Northern Europe so greece can get rid of migrants.
New Port far from the town with nothing do while you wait endlessly to board your ferry, except consume overpriced food and drink. (An ice cream was 4 Euros.) The terminal building is air conditioned and has clean toilets but without toilet seats (in the gents at least). My ferry arrived from Italy and departed more than 3 hours late. There were no public announcements so it was anyone's guess what was going on most of the time. The queueing system for Passport control seemed to be largely ignored by southern Europeans who pushed their way past the rest of us.
I arrived at Patras from Brindisi in Italy when I was travelling Europe by rail. I used Grimaldi Lines ferry and everything went smoothly and I remember my trip fondly, we slept out on the top deck, you probably can't do that now. Getting from the docks to the station was a doddle.
Helpful staff - we didn't know we had to check in or where to go. But asked and everyone was polite and helpful. Strange watching immigrants getting chased about by the police as they try to smuggle themselves into vehicles!
Terminal is a little bit confusing but otherwise ok
Fastest way to Italy ;-)
