Karimalis Winery is a place where you can totally relax and enjoy nature in between beautiful wine fields and vegetable gardens. Next to all that, owners George and Eleni can teach you a lot about wine and wine making, Greek cooking and the healthy Ikarian lifestyle. I loved having dinner at their large table on the terrace outside, sharing their delicious food and talking to guests from all over the world. My visit inspired me to live healthier, eat more fresh vegetables, cook more with herbs and exercise on a daily basis. A truly inspirational place.

Anyone wanting a true blue zone experience should visit this place. I have been to all five of the blue zones and this stands head and shoulders above the rest. And there is no better place in Ikaria to experience local food, wine and culture than here. George and Eleni are extraordinary hosts. ️️️

There are few places left in Greece--really, few places left on the planet--where you can be immersed in a culinary and oenological experience as exquisite and authentic as this one. Your hosts are Eleni and George Karimalis, whose hospitality is famously generous. The Karimalis wines are delicious (first shepherded into existence by George, and now engineered by daughter Iliana, with degrees in viniculture). Their rooms are cozy and beautiful and historical. And the food from Eleni's kitchen is sublime. No wonder they are frequently featured in publications and on television. Stay a few days--or longer if you can. You will be changed by the experience, and by knowing the way this family moves through the world.

We loved our stay with the Karimalis family at their beautiful home stay in Ikaria. Lovely rustic accommodation, healthy and delicious meals each night served up with their fabulous natural wines and great company, we had so much fun we extended our stay! Cannot recommend this highly enough for those who love great food, wine and conversation.

That was just fantastic to visit this place! Definitely it's worth to come here despite the distance. We can't forget it because it was so amazing to have delicious and healthy breakfasts and dinners together with other guests and hosts and with relaxed conversations. Moreover my wife learned how to cook better! :) Unique atmosphere, calm, views, nature around.

This place is a piece of heaven! The Farm, the Food, the wine...everything you‘ve hoped for and more. You can experience healthy living at its finest! If you wanna get closer to nature and spend some time relaxing far away from your busy big-city routine, that‘s the place to go!

One of the highlights on the Island! If you really want to dive into the Blue Zones lifestyle this is your place. This family owned wine farm welcomes you into their way of life by cooking the loviest dishes with local (homegrown) products and guide you through the wine making process with so much passion and enthusiasm. Dear George is a living encyclopedia regarding history and a healthy lifestyle, sweet Eleni creates magic in her cosy kitchen and their daughters are the new generation who are keeping farm life completely up to date! Rustic and comfortable rooms, beautiful scenery for hikes, most stunning views and great evenings around the kitchen/terrace table with such inspiring company. Can't wait to go back again, much love ️

We have been coming to Ikaria for over 30 years. Our first dinner is always at Elena’s and George’s winery. It is such a special place to enjoy the sunset before enjoying a delicious homemade meal made only with organic and homegrown products. And of course, with a glass (or more) of George’s wine to accompany the meal. We cherish our friendship.
