An impressive fortress on the coast. You are sure to enjoy beautiful views of the Navarino bay from the walls.

Bigger than I thought it was going to be but compact. 2 museums, a church lots of relics found on site still in amazing condition. Also in the courtyard there are a number of rooms and it served as a prison back in the Byzantium times when the Turks used it on the Greeks, then for Greek soldiers, and this century used as a normal prison. Very interesting, all set in a forest, fab views.

Gorgeous castle, not given the Credit it deserves in Guide books. Very well preserved walls, large midievel Church, underwater Museum too. Don't miss the cannonballs and cannons also recovered- and the restored barracks area

A well preserved castle! Very clean area to walk around with small museums on the inside to go through Greek history. Do not miss the top spot as the view is stunning. A great place to visit with kids as it’s full of green and open spaces giving you the opportunity to enjoy the Greek sun.

Wonderful place , restored very nicely. Many many trees around which makes it easier to visit when it's summer. Really disappointing was the fact that most of the people working there seemed to have prejudice and to be very rude and discriminating with people that look differently (tattoos, weird hair etc.). I mean its kind of understandable due to the Greek province prudish mindset , however I never felt like this before in any of the other cities or villages around the same area. Such a pity.
