The Archaeological Museum of Piraeus offers the visitor a representative and complete picture of the city's history, which in antiquity experienced great prosperity both as a commercial center of the eastern Mediterranean and as a naval base of ancient Athens. The type of its exhibits, which come mainly from the wider area of \u200b\u200bPiraeus and the Attica beach, from the Mycenaean to the Roman era, are representative of the composition of the population and the history of Piraeus.

A gem of a museum, easy to find and well worth a visit. An hour is all you need. No cafe, but lots of options nearby.

Not too big and not too small. Interesting stuff for sure and, as you would expect, a lot of artifacts in this museum are recovered from the Piraeus area. Entrance was only 4 (possibly dependent on the season) so definitely worth visiting!

Good exposition. But! You feel like some criminal, as there’s a worker following your every step and always watching you. Not all of the workers behave like this, but one of them really made me feel extremely uncomfortable

It's a lovely museum, rather small but great for a short hide away from the sun. Their collection is impressive, the text is well written and enjoyable to read. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the stuff members following us from room to room. It wasn't even done discretly and got quite absurd at one moment. Other than that we liked the museum very much and would definitely recommend it if you're in Piraeus.

This museum shows some exceptionnal bronze statues. Must see ! I have never in my life seen a more beautiful bronze statue than the Artemis in the middle of the room of the bronze statues (see my photos). I mean: this is the most beautiful statue of the world and of all times, according to my very limited experience.
