My wife and I used Kalypso during our honeymoon for seeing some of the amazing underwater world around South Crete. The place is perfect for scuba diving as there is so much underwater world, plants, and much more to see. During the introduction the organisers made sure that everyone who booked for that time was present and it was a wonderful surprise when after asking our names, they mentioned that we were on honeymoon and asked everyone for a round of applause. Really made mine and my wife's day! Parking is a little tight in the area but we got there well in time so managed to find a decent spot. We also hired a photographer with our dive and got some excellent pictures. Also, I think the photographer got a little mixed up because when we received the pictures, we were given a few pictures of someone else as well (3-5 I think). But even then we got plenty of pictures of us during the dive, both individually as well as together, which make for some great memories. Only reason for the 4 star was that we weren't put together for the entire dive, it was probably around 70% of the dive, but it would've been nice to know this in advance or at least be in sight of each other. It would've also been nice to have a proper changing room where the curtian doesn't keep flying out and exposing you. Overall, however a great experience and highly recommend it.

Great place to have your first scuba diving experience. Set in a magnificent rocky cove with beautifully natural lit rock canyon. Instructions in various languages, equipement well kept and clean and very close and attentive coaching. Prepare for a long hot day though, as the sun is merciless. There is a small bar that serves refreshments, and toilets are available nearby.
Great place to learn to dive, 1st time trying. All staff were great, friendly and seem to love their jobs! Information given is clear and you dive 1 to 1 with an instructor. Thoroughly enjoyed our day there and wouldn't hesitate to come back. Lots of marine life to see also. Set in a picturesque location. 11/10, would definitely recommend. Thank you guys for a great day
I said goodbye a few hours ago, and I already miss the people and the place! Went to take my Open Water and Advanced Open Water in a raw. The entire staff was extremely friendly and dedicated from the first moment I stepped in. Kalypso has a broad range of Instructors from different countries - and then speaking different languages - allowing full understanding at every step of the way. Full equipment available on site in real good condition under the help and supervision of the legendary Captain, which on top of highly skilled Instructors, adds to confidence and safety. The site is quite unique. Located at the end of a water canyon through the rocky shore. Water temperature (25* C) and pristine visibility (25-30 m) are a game changer. The myriad of fishes and other marine life make every dive enjoyable. Last, but definitely not least, THE CREW!! All of them are awesome. I particularly want to name Béa and Mike - with whom I had the privilege to continuously be trained by. I cannot thank them enough for the help, guidance and advices. I cannot wait to be back! Thanks again guys!
It was a super experience for the whole family. Impressive views of submarine nature . But most of all, very kind and competent guides and boss! We will come back next year for our open water certificate. Thanks a lot to all the crew!!
Splendid and unique place in a magical location with rocky sea bottom and magnificent canyon underwater. Scuba diving is easy for all levels from beginners to experience divers. The modern DC operates since 1998. The dive sites at Kalypso area are private and operates like Diving Sea Park where fishing is prohibited and the area is stored by the owner and scuba professionals. So, you can plenty of big groupers, turtles, sting rays, lionfish and many different kind of fish. The best service in Kalypso is the one to one (1:1) with your dedicated instructor for beginners and because of this the quality of services to the customers are always in a high level and very safe for everyone!
Prices are rather high: around 70 for a single dive, including gear. Two dives on same day might be less, but they don’t go to the famous dive spots around. When I tried to verify I got the price right for a single night dive (over 80!!) in low season, the lady on the phone shouted on me for a while “dive staff also need to eat!”. Well, if you want to have food on table, you better attract divers instead of scare them away.. The diving center is far from plakias, office in town is closed all times. Couldn’t talk to someone else.
Really nice shore dives in a picturesque area. A special thanks to Jerome, the dive instructor, who was very kind and really took the time to show us the marine life in the area. Please keep in mind this place only takes payment in cash.
