At a first glance these ruins do not look like something special. However, taken into consideration that this castle was built approximately 2,5 thousand years ago it is a spot that can transfer you back in time. This castle is at the best condition compared to other buildings of its time. It is literally worth a visit!

The walls of an ancient greek castle in use from classical times till byzantine times. The restored towers are realy impressive. Inside the castle there are the remains of an old small byzantine monastery and a small church with intresting paintings. A very intresting visit to a rear sight. The village of porto germeno was nice with a quiet (at least in the off season time of our visit) beach and taverns.
Unlike any other castle I've visited throughout Europe, this is two and a half millennia old! Unlike any other castle I've seen, this was built by the Athenian Hegemony but not on Athenian soil. It was manned by allied forces to prevent a surprise naval invasion of Attica. The view from there is outworldish.

Ωραία! Έστω για μία φορά αξίζει να πας να το δεις, αν συνδυαστεί και με μπάνιο στο Πόρτο Γερμενό ή Ψάθα ακόμη καλύτερα.
Είναι καταπληκτικό, αλλά θέλει πολλή δουλειά για να αναδειχθεί.
Καταπληκτική εμπειρία, πολύ ωραία ενέργεια, υπέροχη θέα, παρά πολύ καλές παραλίες, αν σκεφτεί κάποιος πως η κάθε πέτρα του κάστρου κουβαλάει τη δικιά της ιστορία θα καταλάβεις πως αξίζει μια επίσκεψη σε αυτό το μέρος.
