I took the time to read the explainations regarding the different part of Rethymno and the Cretan history, which talk about the evolution of the civilization from the prehistory till the Venitian era. Nice reading and artifacts. Sure it takes a lot more than 10 minutes to visit. 2 for a museum..? Despite being a bit little, it's really worth it..!

A small museum with exhibits from the u prehistoric until Venetian time. It's worth the 2 entrance!

I like museums very much. With this one I'm disappointed... It's small, very small. It was a nice stop during the walk through the town in a hot day, but I'd rather recommand a museum in Chania or in Heraklion.

Pictures are NOT allowed in this museum ! and the staff is very strict about that ... even unpleasant ! Schedules are not respected : some afternoons it's closed at nap time ! There is someone but you are told to reassemble later ... and later it is closed ! Try in the morning, cause the museum is open (no nap in the morning). Museum objects are VERY interesting (5 stars) ... but the behavior of the staff is bad (1 star : especially a man). When we made thousands of miles to visit a country, it's unpleasant to have to return 3 times to visit a museum !
