You can feel the honesty when walking into the taverna VATANIA. I was there twice, had fresh fish both times and was very content with the food and the time I spent there. Also, try the classic zaganaki, delicious! All the best!

I've been there with a group of friends and all of us were really satisfied; delicious food, very good hospitality, and ok prices. It's close to free parking so easy to walk to. I would go back here!
So good we came back! Seafood is great and price/quality ratio is totally worth it. On top of it, the owner is super friendly. A great place off the city center.
This place is further down the beach road but the food was good and came fast. The owner was a great guy, a bit of a character which I like. The food is designed to accommodate tourist tastes but there are also genuine Cretan dishes. We went so the kids could eat pizza but the lamb that I had was terrific and my wife was happy with her food too. The owner gave me a free beer and also gave us all free dessert. I would go back next time we visit Crete.
This place has some delicious meze and ice cold beer. We had a lovely meal and Vakis looked after us well. I will deffo be going back. You can also grab one of their sun loungers if you get a drink at the bar they have an awesome spot on the beach

The food was delicious and fresh. We ordered a fried octopus and a burger. Fast service and a pleasant relaxing atmosphere. Wonderful sea views. Recommended!
