Please do not ride these donkeys. They stand in the hot sun all day, they stand in their own poop and live their live on a hard surface all day long. Disturbing. Here is one with its face tied to the wall. Also saw them used to haul trash in the middle of the night. One donkey was so overloaded it fell over 45 degrees landing on its own load of trash. Local business owners yell at the donkey abusers all the time to stop overloading the donkeys. It is really sad.

Great little hike downhill. Make sure to wear comfortable closed toe shoes as this path also have lots of donkeys which equals to lots of donkey poo poo and pee pee. We originally felt bad for the donkeys but they look well fed, healthy and feisty so we decided to go uphill on the donkeys. The donkeys we were on basically paced themselves, and the individual animals were competitive which made for a very interesting and exciting trip up. A word of caution - please do not ride with children who would be scared and cry, as the noise would spook the animals, causing the donkey trainer to yell at the kid, which generally results in more screaming. Not a good cycle. And... the donkeys just walk wherever they want so don’t assume they will avoid the pedestrians.

I feel bad for the donkeys carrying people up and down all day long, take the cable car if you can’t walk up or down the path. I walked the path, the view is amazing, but the smell and donkey waste is everywhere, you must watch your step. Wish they spend a little time to clean out the path.

The donkeys here are overworked, and abused. You can walk or take the cable car.

679/5000 I wanted to rate 0 but 1 is the minimum. DON'T RIDE THESE DONKEY! Experience absolutely to be avoided. I did not ride these poor animals but there were dozens of people who enjoyed climbing 300 steps on the mules' back. Many were children (with very bad teaching from parents) and many were adults (of considerable weight). I would say it is cruelty. Look at the picture of what happens to these poor animals. Furthermore the road is full of mule feces which also makes the descent / ascent on foot an experience to avoid. Next to it there is a cable car that costs as much as riding a mule: 6. It takes less than two minutes and damage to these agonizing animals is avoided. Please let's stop with this attraction!!!!

Walking down with smell of donkeys poo. Be carefull not to step on it. The view is worthed. If you have strong knees, better go down walking or if you want to pay more by riding donkey but a little bit scary with all the riding down. When you were walking there will a viewing path to take picture and some were living lock of heart on the tree.

We came in low season early December. We were the only riders. The guy charged us extra ten Euros each person (50) one way compared to the online price of 40. He asked us multiple times if things are "okay". So that was pretty funny. I thought the ride was fun. It lasted about 20 minutes entire trip. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the donkey ride, so it was worth it, even though I felt ripped off.

Disgusting, every tourist who supports this should see a doctor
