The boats are old and in poor condition. Claiming that they have new engines, proves to be old too. We went earlier to choose a better boat, nothing to choose really... Everything on board is loose, instrumentation is for decor only, the throttle handle is so hard to move that I scratch my fist several times pushing ahead. The rails were in place when the boat was new, now are totally removed. The stairs are a joke, so loose and dangerous to climb, could be a 10 min fix with a spanner I guess, but that reflect how much the owner cares. The owner will charge the fuel cost by estimating the remaining in the tank ( the fuel indicator is not working obviously ) so double check at the end of the day in case you still want to ride it... I had the feeling of not taking the boat but I paid a deposit the day before without seeing the boats. I've scratched the propeller somehow, it wasn't damaged, still working fine, but I assumed my fault. I was charged 100 extra for the repair, actually the cost of new prop is less than that. My advice...try another boat rental, there are plenty and close to each other, I've seen the boats condition ... most of them much better! All in all the trip along the coast is great, we had a wonderful day snorkeling and swimmimg almost everywhere !

We've been here in 2017, we stayed near Koukounaries for 11 days so this boat rental was very nearby. Make sure you make a reservation before the ride. We took a small 40HP Mercury boat which had a sun shade, a single anchor, set of paddles and safety gear. The boat itself was obviously aged, it had no rails to hold on to so the comfort wasn't exactly top. You don't need a license for this boat, it's very easy to operate, if you don't have experience the fellows there will give you instructions along with a map indicating underwater rocks. I suggest watching a few youtube videos on how to properly anchor the boat before you rent as you will want to explore the less accessible beaches. The ride is fast and smooth, very enjoyable and in my opinion a must if you are on Skiathos and like adventuring. We were there in September and had a very adrenaline-packed ride on our way back due to strong winds not unusual for that time of year. The waves were quite huge and the boat was in mid-air a lot of the time, now this is where the lack of railings came into highlight. In such cases, make sure you demonstrate the highest level of confidence if you're riding with others, my partner was certain we were going to die even though I kept smiling. Although, I think my fixated smile as we waded through 2-metre waves made it worse as she though I was afflicted by some kind of madness. We eventually came back live and well, my partner suffered slight PTSD, was completely wet and cold from the gushing winds. I wanted another ride for us tomorrow but she was unable to speak for a few days so I couldn't book it. Unfortunately I also had a strong bronchitis few days later. Overall I loved it and recommend to anyone wanting a little adventure, just make sure you pack a rain coat as it can get extremely wet when the winds change.
