After renovations, Athens airport became very positive. It's easy to navigate and the signage is good too. Security check has been quick as there are plenty of queuing officers to help through peak times. We were travelling at noon and there were plenty of school students, handled warmly. Last but not least I extremely appreciated the time spent at the Play Area .Small but very well organized and clean. The staff was very caring towards my little ones and prepared to answer all my questions about where to find baby food or other facilities at the airport. They also gave me plenty of information about child friendly facilities and places to visit for my trip which proved to be very accurate. Great service it was like having a personal family travel advisor and for free. Good job Athens airport!!

Very good airport. Good shops. Clean. Lots of seats and charging plots. Lot of check in places and security spots. Better than most well known European Airports.

They make you pay fees on the exit from metro/subway station. I had a ticket that I bought before arriving to Athens and was using it for several days. I had no idea that you have to buy a special ticket separately (where exactly I have no idea) to get the Airport. When you arrive to Airport station the lady was asking my passport immediately and from other people as well. This created a mess I was worried to loose my passport among this mess. She started to collect all passports together without explanation. Then her colleague arrived and explained that we have to pay 36 now or 72 later. They were inspectors. I had feeling it works really well, especially for confused tourists who had no idea about special ticker

Definitely the pride of Greece, makes you feel like being somewhere in New York when you walk there. Congratulations to the people who were responsible for making the Airport. Easily accessible, especially by the subway and by the suburban, and also connected with 24 hour buses (X93, X95, X96, X97). This is where the platform for the suburban train is, either with direction to Piraeus or to Ano Liosia.
