The view from the top is amazing. This is the city’s landmark though and it’s definitely worth a visit.

Very nice place. There are many people around but tower is closed. You can watch it only outside. But it is not bad because the view is very good.

Nice stretch of walk along the coast. Plenty of bars and eateries. Also, White tower, nearby town, half hour ship cruise free on proviso if you buy a drink(Worth it choose the pirate ship!) and statue of a famous person, etc. Not to be missed whilst being here.

What is to be said about this iconic monument that represents like no other the city of Thessaloniki and it's history? A definite symbol that every visitor and citizen of the city must visit and climb. This late Byzantine tower offers a terrific view over the central part of the city and the coast line.

Thessaloniki is a beautiful city and the atmosphere is enchanting. Rich history and interesting buildings make this city irresistible. And this monumental Towers that contributes. Walking from Aristotel's square next to the city gulf we reach the beautiful White Towers. The White Tower in Thessaloniki is the most important symbol of the city. It was built by Turkish Sultan Sulejman Majestic and was intended to keep her from attacking the eastern city walls. The inscription on the clay says that it dates back to 1530. A work by the famous Ottoman architect Sinan. At its location there was an older tower belonging to Thessaloniki's Byzantine fortifications, where the eastern wall met the sea wall. The history of this beautiful tower is extremely interesting and rich. Admission is 2 but has what and to be seen, climbing the stairs to the top, you will pass through the entire history of Thessaloniki. Over the years he changed his name to the garrison of Janissaries, after the Tower of Blood (Kanle Kule) when it became a prison and a place of execution for convicts. In 1883, on the orders of the Sultan Abdul Hamid II, the Tower was painted white and given the name \White Tower\ (Beyaz Kule). After the city’s liberation in 1912 and its incorporation into the Greek state, the Tower had various uses. During World War I, one floor was used to store antiquities from the excavations done by the archaeological service of the Armée d’Orient. Then they used it the city’s air defense, Aristotle University’s meteorology laboratory, and Sea Scout groups have all been hosted in its spaces. Today is a museum.

Beautiful old tower. Great condition. 6 floors some with little arches into little rooms. All displays are in Greek, but you get some free audio in different languages. The view from the top is amazing. You can get pictures of the coast and town. Staff was pleasant. Opens at 8:30am the rooms had little fans to reduce heat.

The view from the top is amazing. However, it’s not the biggest museum you can visit in Thessaloniki. This is the city’s landmark though and it’s definitely worth a visit. The visit doesn’t need to be long as well
