A real highlight of our trip to Santorini. The class was simple, the food was also simple but delicious, the company was lovely, and then to eat it all outside just after a summer rain was so perfect. The banter was also a highlight. A perfect way to spend a couple of hours. So, book and enjoy.

One of the best things we did while on Santorini! We spent the most amazing four hours cooking a traditional Greek meal with an intimate group of 12 people and the best husband/wife team. They are both so personal, kind and approachable, can't say enough good things about the entire experience. I would highly recommend paying them a visit when you are here. First, let me say that if the only thing this class provided was the meal you get to eat at the end, that would make it almost worth it in itself as it absolutely blew our minds. If you don’t want to read this novel of a review, stop here and know: do this class, you (and your tastebuds) won’t regret it. Ok to start, the food was incredible. And yes, we technically made it ourselves, but it was enhanced by the obvious diligence taken by George to ensure the highest quality. But beyond the meal itself, George went above and beyond to make us feel at home, like we were cooking with a lifelong friend letting us in on his grandmother’s secret recipes. The portions were generous and the conversation flowed almost as easily as the wine (which never stopped). Every minute we spent with George (and his wonderful assistant Billy) was a minute well spent, and one we’ll never forget. Everything felt so authentic and every detail was so well taken care of that we forgot we were paying for an experience and started feeling like we had just showed up at an old friend’s for dinner and drinks. It was truly exquisite. In one of the most beautiful places in the world, on a trip of a lifetime full of wonderful people and delicious food, the three hours we spent at Petra undoubtedly jumped to the top of the list for most memorable and enjoyable of any experience we had. We’d do it again in a heartbeat and would absolutely recommend it to anyone and everyone, from people who never cook to amateur Gordon Ramsays. Thank you, George, for welcoming us to your beautiful workspace, giving us an unforgettable experience, and equipping is with the necessary skills to bring a little bit of Greece back home for friends & family.
We booked this great experience in 2018 and I still like to bring the zaziki and the salad to barbeques, everyone loves those. How is the cook book going?:)
This is a late review (September 2018), but a review nonetheless. My friend and I had taken a cooking class in Athens and we were so very underwhelmed. So, we decided to look for another class in Santorini. We found one online thru Trip Advisor and almost every review except one was FIVE stars. We tried to book online but it said we had to wait 24 - 48 hours for a acknowledgement. We didn't have the time so we set out the next day to the class to see if we could book in person. Imagine the surprise Petra's husband had as he answered the door. Listen, he was so very accommodating. He called her on the phone because it was their day off and because of the bad weather they had 2 slots open for the next day. We felt like it was meant for us to be a part of this cooking class. I do advise that you don't show up on their doorstep, though. Anyway, from the moment the cooking class started until they walked my friend and myself out I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this class. I take cooking classes every country that I visit and this one was #1. And they have some stiff competition in Brazil, Italy and Bali. I will be back for another class. Do yourself a favor and BOOK THIS CLASS!!!
Absolutely fantastic! We loved the experience. George and Paula were so friendly and welcoming. The menu was perfect and the little tips and tricks along the way were a wonderful touch. This is a MUST do in Santorini!!
The most magnificent experience!!!! You learn how to cook traditional Greek food in a local couple's house... and what a place! They builded this magical place in a cave-house, beautiful decorated, and receive you with nice music. We had the most wonderful time. It is a must in Santorini.
If there were 6 stars, they would get that rating. This was the PERFECT end to a PERFECT trip! I can not say enough or find the right words to describe our day. From the moment we arrived; George, Paula and the Queen made us feel more than welcome in their home. They have this event so tightly dialed in it is amazing. They do this class twice daily, but you would never notice this in their demeanor. Every class is treated like it is their first. You are busy, entertained, fed, and educated virtually all at the same time. The group we were in was great, everyone is a foodie or likely would not do this. We plan to make this meal for our friends right down to the wine that was served. Thank you for making our last day in Greece such a wonderful remembrance!
