The Castle of Trikala was built in the 6th century of Byzantine origin. The clock that stands now, is a replica built in 1936. Local tradition advises that there is a secret opening within the castle. It gives a pretty good view of the city as well. If you look within the gardens, you might be able to see a greek tortoise.

Pretty nice historical Byzantine castle at the top of a hill in Trikala city. There is a cafe restaurant at the castle and the beautiful landmark of the city, the clock tower. Clean place, with beautiful view of the city and the area around, many nice spots for memorial photos.

Nice castle, but some parts are closed and it a little disappointing. Views are good. Parking very close and available.
Very Nice historical castle situated in the center of trikala a must visit when you pass there, also there's a place inside where you can have food drinks... Unfortunatly it was closed on saturdays and it opens during the week, the architecture is pretty cool #letsguide #historical #castle #trikala
Free entrance. Panoramic view. On you way up you will find a great place for coffe and more enjoying the serenity.
Nice castle, nice clock but September 2019 they made renovation and we could go up to see the view
During our trip the clock tower was under rconstruction so we were not able to climb up. But we got lucky and saw one turtle in the gardens
