Great place to see small turtles and mainly learn how to help to protect them.

The work of the center could not be more important, there is no doubt we need more places like this to preserve our nature and animals. I only gave one star though because I was shocked when I saw how hypocritical some of it is. Not the center itself but rather the restaurants and the shop next to it. They ask visitors to help the center by getting a drink or buying a souvenir and they advertise their "biodegradable straws". But what you get is plastic straws, new paper tablecloth for everyone and souvenirs wrapped in plastic given out in a plastic bag... I don't know how this can be acceptable for a place like this?? I am hoping that people will NOT stop going there to support the turtles and the amazing work the staff does but rather start asking questions while openly communicating how ironic this is and what we must change to actually have an impact on our environment and help those beautiful animals.
This is a little out of the way but worth the visit. I knew we had an effect on the turtles but did not realise to what extent before visiting. Donations only, make sure you spend in the bars or gift shop as every penny is spent on the turtles. Well done Yanni and the people that help run this little hidden gem.
Worth a visit! Very good work from the volunteers and everyone’s support is needed.

Not a good visit. No actual turtles there which I a good thing I suppose. Plus side great beech and great to see the help in the protection of these animals
Highly recommend visiting the sea turtle rescue centre for information on how to limit your impact on the sea turtles whilst on holiday in Zakynthos. I cried and was very angry watching the film Yannis made, showing just how awful humans are. Donate any spare euros you have to this vital rescue centre. Well done Yannis for your work.
Love this place and so pleased i finally got to get here on my recent holiday. Such important work they do and I will definitely be back to offer my support as a volunteer. Was truly inspired! Gerakas beach is 2mins away. I spent some money at the bar too as the income goes back to support this amazing rescue centre. No rescued turtles on my visit which was dissapointing yet glad as it means that non needed rescuing this time. Please help and sign thw petition to loby the Greek government! The video of insensitive tourists inside the museum is truly heartbreaking
