Chalkis Shipyards SA is a privately held company offering drydocking, ship maintenance and refit services to international clients. Established at Avlis in the early seventies, the shipyard’s location is on the route of vessels travelling to and from the Black Sea as well as those travelling to and from the Suez Canal to the Western Mediterranean area. The shipyard offers comprehensive service for short or extensive dockings, ranging from basic steelwork and piping to the most complex electrical and mechanical works, as well as repair and refit services. Conveniently positioned in Chalkis, Chalkis Shipyards is ISO-9001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified and its facilities operate under the ISPS code. Its facilities include two floating docks, shore and mobile cranes and fully-equipped repair shops. The company has weathered the Greek government’s debt crisis that has seen most large Greek shipyards face extreme hardship or even close down.
