Very interesting place. The owner is funny and friendly. That little village Vlichadia is also sweet and the beach is nice.

We visited this Museum located in Vlichadia in the afternoon. Take note that they are opened all days, except for Sundays, from 09 00 till 17 00. The owner of the Museum manages also a restaurant with the same name next to the Museum, so if you find it closed for some reason, head to the restaurant to look for him. The entrance fee is 3 euro. It is difficult to reach the Museum from the port of Kalymnos if you do not have a car, because the buses do not go often to this village, so you may need to have your own transportation to get there. The Museum is very nice and it is a huge collection of artefacts and wrecks found by Mr STAVROS, who passed away 6 years ago, and who was a passionate DIVER and an extraordinary passionate about sea world and shipwrecks. Now his son is in charge of the Museum, and he is a smart and lovely person, so if you have any questions, just ask him! There is a small souvenir shop in the Museum where you can buy some magnets or shells from the Mediterranean. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Für ein privates Museum beachtlich. Jedoch alles eher in bedauernswertem Zustand. Vor allem sehr viele Tiere und Muscheln. Allerdings in einem Bereich auch zahlreiche antike Amphoren, Teller und Vasen. Des Weiteren gibt es natürlich Schwämme. Am meisten haben mich ein ca. 100 Jahre alter Riesenschwamm und einige sehr große Vasenschwämme beeindruckt. Auch Münzen und Ringe sind zu sehen. Insgesamt ok. Spannend ist auch der bei einem der Tauchgänge gefundene Tresor.
Τα δύο αστέρια μόνο και μόνο για την απίστευτα μεγάλη συλλογή που μάζεψε αυτός ο άνθρωπος στη ζωή του.. τα περισσότερα απ τα εκθέματα έχουν ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον για κάποιον που τα χει δει μόνο σε φωτογραφίες. Κατά τ αλλά όλα μοιάζουν παραμελημένα. Ο χώρος μέσα έχει μια έντονα αποπνικτική μυρωδιά (κατι μεταξύ μούχλας, κλεισούρας και θάλασσας), σε πολλές βιτρίνες τα ψάρια έχουν πέσει από τα σημεία στήριξης τους, ταμπελάκια που εξηγούν τα είδη που βλέπει ο επισκέπτης είτε έχουν μπερδευτεί με άλλα είτε είναι ανύπαρκτα.. λάμπες έχουν καεί..Ο χώρος είναι πολύ βρώμικος, παρουσιάζει μια εικόνα εγκατάλειψης. Το εισιτήριο ήταν 3 ευρώ το άτομο.. κάτι σαν απόδειξη πληρωμής δεν πήραμε. Λυπάμαι πάρα πολύ, γιατί ο.τι υπάρχει εκεί μέσα είναι ένας θησαυρός και για το νησί και τη ζωη των σφουγγαράδων αλλά και γενικά για να πάρει κανείς μια ιδέα τι κρύβεται μέσα στην αγκαλιά της θάλασσας (από σπάνια είδη ψαριών και σφουγγαριών μέχρι και συντρίμμια από πολεμικά αεροσκάφη).

Πολύ ωραίο θεματικό μουσείο που σίγουρα θα ξανά επισκεφθώ!
