Very neat fortress with great views and a small sculpture museum inside. There are no charges here so entry is free! Opening times are 1000 to 1500 hrs!
Karababa which is a combination of 2 Turkish words Kara (black) baba ( father) is an Ottoman Castle builded on the opposite side the Island Εύβοια (Euripus) like a gate. The name of the island also comes from Turkish \EğriBoz\, that means Eğri (Curved) Boz (Land), referring the strange shape of the island. The Heritage cannot be destroyed ;)
Great view from the top of the castle. It is difinetelly worth a visit . Don't forget to visit FRE of charge the small measum inside castle (include a lot of leftovers ruins from middle age & ottoman period)
Museum is very interesting, views walking around fortress are incredible.

To get to the Castle you should take the first stairs on your left from the main road, then take the stairs again where there is a terribly translated wooden sign which says \FOR KAΣTLE\, meaning of course \to the castle\. You will then be surrounded be cacti as you make your way to the top. At the end of the road you should be able to see the old fortress as well as Skaribas' grave. once inside, make your way on the top of the walls so you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the city.
