Most pictures of this historical landmark show the bay and the sea-view, magnificent, by all means. However, I'd like to take you to the opposite side of the road, to the hills. This is a lovely walking area all year round, with natural paths (no paving of asphalt), exciting views opening in front of curious eyes, rich vegetation and wild-life if you respect the nature, keep quiet and watch. The best time is the winter and early spring with moderate temperatures, sun and rain taking swaps easily, thousands of flowers, and partridge males trying to attract females (try to find one on one of the pictures); you may even spot foxes. Birds fly around, bushes smell sweet odour, and you can wander around, go for jogging, walk your dog - as you wish. Remember to greet everybody you meet, this is the nice habit here. By the way, the pictures are raw, no filters or post-processing, the colours are truly this amazing. Enjoy the walk!

This is an amazing spot for walking through the typical Mediterranean plants all the way down to the sea. My friend and I had a swim even in early May, but the water being deep, swimming is suggested to experienced swimmers only. The rocks are perfect for sunbathing. Due to the isolation of the place and the possibility to hide between the rocks some people were sunbathing naked there, but we didn't find it neither annoying nor inadequate. Perfect for relaxing while contemplating the beautiful nature.
Great spot for a quick swim if you don't have time to venture further south. Have to climb down the rocks.

Great place to make a photo of Athens harbor. Also, not very crowded, so if you find the air a bit hot, you can always enjoy cool waters here
As place it is nice. But the owner of the bar is very rude. He was pressing us to buy something to drink in order to stay on the beach. But there is nowhere written that it is obligation. Moreover he threatened us that next time he will not allow us to come. And they do not have toilet! People just go under bushes! It stinks! And they are not official there! They just exploit this place! We are preparing to go to the tax office to make application about this owner and to write him huge penalty.
